Data Complaints procedure

A data protection complaint includes:

  • Subject Access Request handled incorrectly or late

  • Information shared without consent

  • Data kept longer than necessary

  • Failure to delete or correct data

  • Data breach affecting someone's data

You have always had the right to complain to the ICO, but you should now raise any complaints with this organisation first so we can try to help you.

When you raise a complaint we will:

  • Commit in writing to acknowledge every complaint within 30 days of receipt.

  • Investigate without undue delay and keep the complainant informed throughout.

  • Have a full response within 3 months including findings, actions taken and the right to escalate to the ICO.

  • Document everything throughout including date received, acknowledged, steps taken, outcome, date closed.
